Lake of the Woods County Public Works Department, Baudette, MN is inviting applications for a Solid Waste Processor with the Public Works Department.
GENERAL DUTIES:
This position assists the Solid Waste Program Manager in the daily operations of the Graceton and NW Angle solid waste facilities. Incumbent is responsible for the daily operations of the County Solid Waste Facilities in the absence of the Solid Waste Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma and three years of related equipment operator experience, or equivalent
- Ability to obtain and maintain MN State certifications required to operate the Solid Waste Facilities
- Must possess and maintain a MN Class A Driver’s License (CDL)
- Ability to operate all heavy and light equipment used at the facility
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior education in science or mechanics
- Light mechanical and carpentry skills
Salary: Hourly $26.12 plus an excellent benefit package

LAKE OF THE WOODS COUNTY INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE POSITION OF
SEASONAL EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
Public Works Department
GENERAL DUTIES:
Working under the general direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Equipment Operator performs duties relating to maintenance of County roadways and properties. Duties require operation of hand held and walk behind power equipment and utility tractors, single and tandem axle trucks and pickup trucks. This position will be from June 15th, 2025 to Fall of 2025.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18 years old to operate power equipment
- Valid Class A Minnesota Driver’s license
- Minimum of six (6) months of experience in operation of tractors and mower units and single axle trucks
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with backhoes and other heavy machinery
- Experience in operation of tandem axle trucks
Salary: $20.61- $25.63

TEMPORARY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

GENERAL DUTIES:
Candidate will assist on county highway projects. Candidate will perform construction inspection and observation, conduct site surveys and assist in routine maintenance/labor on county projects. This job assignment will begin at the end of May/Early June, 2025 and will go until end of August/early September 2025.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18 years old to operate power equipment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class D Minnesota Driver’s license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong interest in civil engineering or schooling/backing in civil engineering
- Past experience with Trimble survey equipment and Autodesk software

IT SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN
DUTIES INCLUDE: Responsible for the design, installation, administration, maintenance, and optimization of county servers and network storage. Ensure client/server application availability and oversee data center security and integrity. Provide technical support for enterprise technologies and manage county telecommunications systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is preferred; however, a combination of relevant technical certifications, demonstrable experience, and a strong aptitude for learning will also be considered.
- Proficient communicator capable in bridging communication between stakeholders and IT.
- Demonstrated ability to approach challenges logically, learn quickly, and contribute to problem-solving efforts, both independently and as part of a team.
- Working knowledge of personal computers, servers, and Microsoft suite of operating systems and applications.
- CJIS certification or ability to become certified by the State of Minnesota.
- Valid Minnesota driver’s license required.
