To educate local law enforcement officers on ATV laws, and develop a plan on dealing with ATV issues.  To respond to complaints or areas of concern from the public, and be a resource they can use to further utilize the resources in the area.  Work with DNR Forestry and Conservation Officers to effectively manage and monitor ATV activity throughout the federal, state, and county managed lands.  Identify and correct areas of concern with ATV activity and pressure. Work with juveniles and educate them on the ATV laws and regulations. Assist county by developing a working relationship with the Trail Ambassadeur program, Trail Ambassadeurs, and local ATV clubs.

Preventing or reducing boating accidents and drowning and making Minnesota’s water safe and enjoyable. This includes boating law enforcement, aids to navigation, response to and investigation of boating accidents, drowning, search, rescue and recovery operations, permitting of events and temporary structures and rental boat inspections.

To educate local law enforcement officers on snowmobile laws, and develop a plan on dealing with snowmobile issues.  To respond to complaints or areas of concern from the public, and be a resource they can use to further utilize the resources in the area.  Work with DNR Forestry and Conservation Officers to effectively manage and monitor snowmobile activity throughout the federal, state, and county managed lands.  Identify and correct areas of concern with snowmobile activity and pressure. Work with juveniles and educate them on the snowmobile laws and regulations. Assist county by developing a working relationship with the local snowmobile clubs.  To respond to emergency calls for stranded, lost, or otherwise distressed snowmobilers.
